Getting there

Arriving

The most common airport to fly into internationally is GIG (Galeão International Airport). If you find a flight that lands in São Paulo first, you might be lucky enough to land in SDU (Santos Dumont Airport). It's closer to the city center with a really cool view of Rio, but it's a smaller airport and may have more expensive flights.

Getting Around

Public Transit

The metro and buses are available. However, be aware my American friends, you may be an easy target for pickpockets.

Uber & taxi

When in doubt, call an Uber. They're probably the easiest way to get around.
